TROUBLmakers Pt. 1
If you’ve been tuned in to the blog, you may have noticed us using the term TROUBLmaker here and there. If you don’t fully understand what we mean when we use the term, let me spell it out for you.
TROUBLmakers are people who defy negative stereotypes. They are dedicated to education, formal or imformal. Their style is non-conforming. They live outside the box. TROUBLmakers question authority not simply for the sake of some romanticized rebellion, but for the sake of justice. TROUBLmakers leads by example. They’re not perfect and can admit when they’re wrong. TROUBLmakers see the world from more than their perspective. And they hunger to know more perspectives. Art and creativity are important to them. They applaud struggle. They curse hate. They lift others around them. TROUBLmakers embody positive change. They cause trouble, trouble for the forces that benefit from ignorance.
The first prominent figure that we’ve decided to crown a troublmaker is Mos Def. Whether it be starring in groudbreaking films, hosting Russel Simmon’s Def Peotry Jam, treking to Lousinana in support of the Jena six, Mos Def embodies what it means to be a troublmaker. His efforts, style and music are TROUBL.
Mos hola at us. We want to do an exclusive interview. Real talk. No rap shit, real issues. Holla Bck.

Troublsome
Troublmakers are also motivated by the CAUSE. Not by fame, Not by Notoriety, or not by material objects or financial gain. Troublmakers also hear things a little different than others. The same things that people hear or see everyday, and act like they don’t see them. They hear and see! Not only do Troublmakers notice these things, “They do Something about Them.”My comparisons to a Troublmaker go back to the parable in the bible of David and Goliath. Goliath stood up against his enemies for forty days, and because he was so massive his enemies feared him and pretended not to hear his challenges. Goliath started talkin that same smack talk to little Ol David, and he said “Let’s Get it On” What I am trying to say is, That there is no problem that is too big for someone who is driven by the CAUSE, and who is willing to find the solution. I agree Mos Def, definitely embodies what it means to be a troublmaker. We salute you and commend you on your efforts. Let’s Get into some TROUBL together!

Wow!!! Needless to say - David ended up “KING” after many trials, so I am so excited for yall to stir up TROUBL everywhere and please DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!! Anything worth doing is worth doing ALL THE WAY!!!! A small ripple is all it takes to create a tsunami!!!!!! It seems that your ultimate goal is to make a difference in the lives of our most valuable resource - EACH OTHER!!!! I see you all as part of God’s divine tree, so for me, the happiest part is seeing the new branches spring forth and grow and flourish in all of their splendor!!!! I look forward to the possibilities!
