Tar Kingdom
Tar Kingdom. Where is it? You can take one of two routes: 1) Idealistic 2) Realistic. Ideally, Tar Kingdom is where, in common black vernacular, all the ills that plague black people don’t exist. To list the ills will eat up too much paper (and post space); and black people already know what they are. Realistically, Tar Kingdom is the place we reference in modern-day music, specifically hip-hop, urban literature, and social round-tables of discussions about what black people don’t have. The operative questions become: Is “kingdom” necessarily synonymous with “perfection?”
If there is no perfection, then no kingdom is to utter a conditional statement that is overtly false. I can cite countless historical kingdoms where perfection was far removed–yet, the kingdom found its place.
Tar Kingdom is here amidst the drugs, baggies, needles, pipes, alcohol containers, inadequate education, failing police protection, genocide, guns, blades, pimps and hoes, dirty streets and avenues. Tar Kingdom is, too, Hoodsnacks™–Doritos bags and dry salami, Kool-aide and pickles, all-day lollipops, water fights, bar-b-q pits on sidewalks, open fire hydrants, tag football under street lights, house parties, turfin/pop-locking, games of spade, dominoes, the Music Box–Candy Coated Raindrops and The Games We Play–church: Good Times.
So much for idealism. But, so what? Ideals don’t exist. But, we exist–in Real Life, where things are not perfect. Tar Kingdom is an aggregate of good and not so good, similar to all other kingdoms. Tar Kingdom is here. Enjoy it. Embrace it. Fix it.**Inspired by a conversation with Boosy

Fuck investing in our death. We could make a lot of money, but we’d be sacrificing ourselves for it. I hate it when I see celebs that come from communalities that are inflicted by issues like alcoholism and heart disease sponsoring alcohol and tobacco. These two industries profit on our addictions. They sell us poison and we smile holding a bottle of brew on a billboard. I’m not judging them if they drink or smoke, but don’t sell the shit.

Man…I know I need stock in newports. Good point Troublman. The sponsorship is a bit saturated, and they not getting nearly as much as they ought to for the promotion. But, you know how that go. As long as they got that check and free access to what they promoting, it’s good.

Fuck that. That shit is wack. We don’t promote poison. We promote education, health and love… Not ling cancer. My grandpa died of lung cancer. The Tar Kingdom looked like the one you describe but he was on a respirator. He couldn’t see past it.
