Rhymes With Nader

Written by: Terry

nader.jpgWhat do we call the man responsible for seat belts and air bags as standard, nutrition facts on packaged food, whistle blowing on corporate corruption , beginning the grassroots movement and a ridiculously long list of philanthropy? Here’s a hint. It rhymes with Nader.

Ralph Nader is responsible for benefiting more lives through change as a civilian than the wide majority of Presidents to ever step into office. He’s running for President again, as an independent with no official party ties. And the mainstream media has led millions of Americans to shit on him because they were told he’s “bad.” WTF?

The Democrats still blame him for the 2000 loss. Get over it! The loss to Dubya was not Nader’s fault. The 2.6% that voted for Nader (rather than Gore as people claim) pales in comparison to the 11% of Democrats who voted Republican that year. Instead of mobilizing their base and taking the blame for their short comings the Democrats blamed the little guy and neglected to mention that almost 70% of the voting eligible population didn’t vote.

Obama is about “change.” He started from the “grassroots.” “Yes we can.” That’s all well and good, but it wasn’t pulled out of thin air folks.

Allow me to add, “thank you Mr. Nader for dedicating your life to improving ours.” Thank you for challenging the system and creating change. Thank you for starting the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs) and grassroots organizing. Thank you for being an Unreasonable Man (check out the documentary of the same name) when everyone told you that airbags will never become standard and giving the people a message of hope. Thank you for not allowing your integrity to compromised by the empty opinions of millions of sheep whose shepherds are owned by Rupert Murdock.

I’m not saying you have to vote for him. You don’t. There are plenty of good reasons why people wouldn’t. Obama, Clinton, Paul and McCain are all still options. But, the Democrats hands are as bloody as the Republicans. Independent voters (and American people for that matter) don’t owe the Dems shit. The sob story about the Nader effect is ridiculous. If you don’t like him, don’t vote for him. But to lock him out of the process entirely because he’s not the golden boy chosen to lead us to the Promised Land (media spin is remarkable) is just sad. If he must be attacked, let it be for his policies and actions.

I said it before, and I’ll say it again, bipartisanship is a misrepresentation of the people.

  1. Although Ralph has good intentions. He likes to stir-up the pot. If he was really serious don’t you think he would have started along time ago. He did this the last time he ran for president.

Absolutely. He shoulda pulled an Andrew Jackson and ran all 8 years Bush was in office. I can’t speak much for his high end campaigning skills. I am still on the fence about who I’m voting for, but I won’t cancel him out just because I am told to. His message may be old, but it has never been more relevant. When you put CEOs in high government offices, they run the US as the corporation that it is. That means acceptible losses, collateral damage, war tactics, and unfortunately in this case, human currency. Ralph hasn’t shut up about it yet in a presidential election. But Momz your right, where the hell has he been these past four years?

There's a war going on. It's for our minds. The enemy-- ignorance and apathy. Strap yourself. Only the smart survive.

Cause he a nigga but he just can't accept it.
