Mr. Frontrunner
With less than a month before the Iowa caucus, political pundits around the country are scratching their heads. To their surprise, Barak Obama is leading the campaign to become the 2008 Democratic nominee for president.
According to the latest Des Moines Register poll, Obama is in front with the support of 28 percent of likely caucusgoers. Hillary Clinton trails closely with 25 percent. And John Edward is in third with 23 percent.
Though the lead is slim, it’s significant. For the first time Obama is the frontrunner. The new poll also details Clinton’s slide, down from 29 percent in previous polls. Winning Iowa is key, providing momentum going into New Hampshire, Nevada, Michigan, South Carolina and to February 5 when 22 states vote.
Despite the media attention, most democrats believed Obama wouldn’t stand a chance.
I look foward to seeing if the Democratic party is ready for an Obama victory. Are they ready to support a candidate who is not of the old guard? Will they truly be the progressive party that they claim to be? Or, will they push for Obama to tighten the reigns? Do Democrats have the audacity for hope?
A better question to ask is whether Obama is ready. If he wins in Iowa, will he be ready for the onslaught of attacks that the other democratic hopefuls will engage in heading into New Hampshire. Can he muster up enough attitude to wage his own attacks? How will he handle the numerous death threats that are certain to come? Is he really ready to tackle questions concerning the war in Iraq, global terrorism and nuclear proliferation?
I believe he is. And either way, I’m excited to tune in.

One definition of a leader is the person who creates, publishes and disseminates new ideas, and uses those ideas to motivate large numbers of people, called his followers, into actions, especially if those ideas and actions result in major political, economic and social transformations. I am excited as well to see if Obama has what it takes to live up to that definition. I will support him every step of the way!!!!!

What do you think about the Oprah endorsement? What effect will it have?

Mr. Troublman If I may, I would like to touch the Oprah Endorsement, or the “Oprah Effect” they would call it. Oprah organized a 2 day campaign, in the two states of New Hampshire, and South Carolina this weekend. Oprah put Obama on her “Favorite Things List”, and you know everything that’s placed on this list Turns to gold. Even though she usually revolutionizes the sales of books, food, and beauty products. I think that there will be large success in this weekend two days campaign even in Democratic Presidential Candidate. “Shit” between the two venues where the campaigns were they accommodated nearly 105,000 viewers. Not two mention the 7.4 million people that watch Oprah. I think it was dope. I guess we’ll see the effects of it soon….

I always thought that Oprah would support the Clintons. I feel like the best man/women should be the president, and I don’t know who that is right now, but Oprah likes Obama and she has a good platform to express her feelings and convince a lot of mostly women in this country. But I hope in the long run it not about Oprah, but who is the best for our country.
We really need a lot of changes, because for some of us. “Love don’t live here anymore.”

Oprah looked good up there delivering her speech for Obama. I don’t see why see wouldn’t run. She already has the women vote on lock. She can raise as much money as anyone. She’s smart and has a media platform to promote herself>
You think there’s a Winfrey for President campaign brewing?

I agree with Malia…a leader is someone who creates new ideas…who is a LEADER not a follower. I believe in Obama. I think he is a brilliant man with wonderful leadership qualities and integrity. If you haven’t read his book “Audacity of Hope” I highly recommend it…it really paints a clear picture of who he is and what he is all about.

Well, it’s been proven that the Dems are ready for a Obama as a candidate. Now, is America ready for him as the Pres? It’s funny, he’s again the frontrunner for President. Hopefully, the results are the same as during the primaries.
