Kicks
It’s crazy how a pair of retro kicks can take your mind right back to your younger days. When I spotted these Nike CB34’s, I started thinking of my homeboy Cleo (R.I.P.) and how he was quick to turn down some Jordan’s for a fresh pair of Barkley’s. Back then, we could argue all day about who’d win in a one-on-one, MJ or Sir Charles; and about whose shoe was hotter. Maybe it’s the whole pseudo-retirement thing? Or maybe it’s the releases of too many Air Jumpman spin-offs? But Since those days, Jordan has lost some favor, while Barkley has definitely grown on me.
Not only is Chuck one of the highest scoring black Republican in NBA history, he always controversial and never shies away from speaking his mind. Check out one of his more recent spouts.

I never really was a big Jordan fan (Shoes) I guess because I knew that everywhere you went you would see ever one wearing them. This is a little off subject, but I think I liked the Bo Jacksons the most when it came to shoes that had a name endorsed to them.

I agree. The Bo’s were the first pair of $100 sneakers I ever owned. I had the orange and blue. I remember I seen “Another Bad Creation” rocking them on “Soul Train” and I begged my dad to get me some for my birthday.

I did get em. Too bad because I’m hard on shoes and I messed them up in about a week.
They had great value to me. I was fresh at school with my kicks. I wouldn’t have been able to communicate the value back then, but more than the price, they helped me build confidence.

So young adults. What do you think about how the college and the work force see you in your “kicks” Hasn’t the world changed for you as far as what you wear. Haven’t you kind of grown out of some of these things. “Just asking”.

KICKZ HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE!!! Crazy to see how the shoe has evolved over a 50 year span and still have an effect on today. One of my favorite books I own is titled “Where’d You Get Those From?” It goes back on the history of NY’s underground shoe society and how they were really the beginning source of the now, ever so popular shoe culture.
Sad to say now in days the culture has lost it’s drive. The same goes for how the Jordan brand has lost it’s mojo as well. Maybe it’s because of the new style of fashion that goes great with a pair of slim Vans than a bulky fresh pair of Jordan 5’s (which happen to be in my top 3 of favorite Jordan’s). I actually never owned a pair of Jordan’s till I was a junior in high school. They were the Blue, Gray, and White, hologram jointz (Text to be displayed
). Ya’ll sneaker heads know whats up! I don’t even remember which Jordan’s were the last model to sell out on the first day!
I do see alot of shoes that take me back to my younger youth. Just yesterday I spotted the Nike Air Zoom Flight 95’s Sittin right next to the 96’s!!! Oh Shit! I was puzzled to know why they were still on display!?! “I know I’m finna’ cop 2 pairs of them joints” LOL “Word!” As I drooled over the display, young cats were walkin past me and into another store across the way to see the same ol’ Van’s that their age group now believe is hot… they’re okay, but what the fuck??? Vans have been around over 30 years or so!!! Why are they hotter than ever now in urban society??? Young folks from Southern Cali have been rockin them slip on shits for years. I guess out here the popularity has picked up thanks to that wack ass rap group “The Pack”– “Got My Vans On, But They Look Like Sneakers.” Guess I can’t complain though. Run DMC had a more broad affect with their hit “My Addidas”.
I can go on and on but I really would like to know what everyone’s favorite sneaker is??? Take me back!!! Remind me of the kicks that have gotten us here!!!
R.I.P. CLEO!!! Love Ya Buoy!!!

Keene your right. But not those I was into PF flyers navy blue, not the high tops. I have small feet so I looked very cute in them. I always thought reeboks were to boyish and I was a Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaady! Anway let’t continue on. I’d like to see what the kids/young adult boys and girls are wearing.

PF Flyers are an all time classic too. I think alot of people in my age rage don’t know alot about The Flyers. First time I heard of em, I was watching the movie “The Sandlot” and the character “Benny” was rockin’ some. His were more along the line of the Converse All Star. The way they addressed the title of the shoe let me know that the brand had big time credibility… For those who don’t know what the Zoom Air Flight 95’s AND 96′S are… here they go: Hot Shitz
