Classic like Rocky and Clubber Lang, ABC’s tough questions had Clinton and Obama bobbing and weaving at last night’s Democratic presidential debate in Philadelphia. My favorite moment was George Stephanopoulos accusing Obama of having shady connections. I also liked Hillary’s claim that she’ll withdraw troops no matter what. Who landed the knockout punch and what was it?
Watch the debate here. It’s a 10-part series on YouTube.

LOL!!! Good question….can I be honest? I was able to watch about 30 minutes of the debate last night and I have to tellyou as the debates go on I feel as though Obama is losing steam. His answers are falling short and his experience is coming under fire. I feel that he says just enough to get by and makes too many generalizations without standing ground one way or another. He’s becoming very politician like. I am a “word is bond” kind of girl. If I say something I mean it that’s why I try never to make promises I can’t keep. When he says he’s going to get more jobs and medical for evryone I expect him to have a plan to back it up, but he doesn’t. And what’s up with him always digging in his ear????

It was a lifeless, exhausted, drained and dreary Obama we saw tonight. I’ve seen it before when he is tired, but this was his worst performance yet on national television. He seemed crushed and unable to react. This is big-time politics and he’s up against the Clinton wood-chipper. But there is no disguising the fact that he wilted, painfully. Clinton has exposed herself in this campaign as one of the worst shells of a cynical pol in American politics. She doesn’t just return us to the Morris-Rove era, she represents a new height for it. If she somehow wins, it will be a triumph of the old politics in an age when that is exactly what this country cannot afford. But Obama has also shown a failure to be resilient in this grueling process….

Obama was very weak defending himself, though I only saw isolated clips, so I couldn’t judge his overall posture for the debate. But as I said, his main counter was the “This is a distraction” thing. Hard to say if it will sell.

Great question. He’s Rocky. Hilary is the hard hitter. Obama is the people’s champ.

Yeah the whole “distraction” excuse doesn’t fly with me. When I ask you a question don’t tell me that BS….answer the dang question! I was having flashbacks of past relationships……
Baby you believe that?
It wasn’t me I swear!
They just hating on our relationship!
Come on, you know I wouldn’t do that!

I guess I share the conventional wisdom that Hillary Clinton did well, certainly better than the last time. Obama seemed completely off his game, without a crisp answer for the driver’s-license-for-illegals question that everyone knew would be on the test.

Thanks for the clarification Troublman….lol
Digging in his ear is a nervous reaction, like rubbing your forehead or scratching your nose. He has always fallen short with answers IMO from the beginning. His inexperience has always shown through and he skims over things too much for my tastes. But everyone loves him…

He doesn’t need to do debates cause he is always short. The more details he reveals may raise questions. Did we know he was against Affirmative Action? Now we do…

Q.
i’m going to disagree with most of you..
i think what we saw was a dude that was fed up with the same questions.. he was like “how many more times do i have to explain this shit? how many different ways can i say it? do you not understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?”
i was dang near waiting to hear him drop the f bomb or “y’all niggas are trying my patience”..
overall, the joint was wack.. we don’t need any more debates.. i think Barack won simply because they made Hillary finally admit that he can beat McCain.. this is something she’s been against saying forever.. they got her to say it.. i turned it off with 30 minutes to go.. it was just going nowhere.. 2 wounded fighters, just staying up to make it to the final bell..

I’m with Q.
Obama came to play. He was the most confident that I’ve seen him in a long time. Not preachy or showy like he was after some of his primary wins, but confident. He faced Hillary when she spoke (one of her tactics), he confronted the media on their bullshit, and he got at McCain.
He knows he’s the peoples champ…Now it’s up to the judges.

I know that’s your doggg - but you REACHIN now! He was whack! Questions come with the territory, that is expected…..yes, the same dang questions over and over again. If he’s going to lead the country he can’t be hot under the collar every time somebody irritates him….

I feel like white people want the same. Our image in the world is at stake. A black president says America is going in a new direction. White people want to progress past our evil-doer status as much as black folks.

i hear you.. and yeah, i have the bias thing going.. but, i really thought dude was bored with the same stuff.. i didn’t think Hillary did anything.. she struggled to answer the questions.. she took like 10 minutes to answer each one.. i felt my ADD acting up again..
Barack wasn’t at his best, but i just thought he did what he needed to do, which was show a side most people didn’t see.. he hemmed and hawed as well, but i thought he answered each question.. and like TM said, he got at McCain..
the best part was when he said “when I’m President”.. that alone was enough for me.. not if, but when..

I know your stance but do you really believe what you just said? …..White people want to progress past our evil-doer status as much as black folks……I admire your hope in Obama, but I’m seeing things in him that are irritating me and I’m not gon lie! He is very condescending, boogie (I’m sure Boosy can appreciate that) and he made some digs that I found insulting. His “sense of humor” leaves me looking at him like NEGRO PLEASE! When he said, “I guess she’s okay” referring to Clinton I was rolled my neck and said …”excuse me…”….that ish ain’t cute. To put another down to feel superior is not cool with me!!!! My step dad is a hard core republican, he’s always looking his nose down at people and it irritates the hell out of me. He knows he’s black, but he doesn’t KNOWWWW he’s black, and I’m getting that same feeling about Obama.
Another thing, I am not going to vote for him just because he’s black!!! You’re right, a black president says America is going in a new direction but I don’t know if I want to follow……
Okay, I’m don’t complaining…for now….
Q—————
He doesn’t have the luxury of being bored yet!!!!!
I’m going to buy you some Ridalin!!!!!

I CONCUR CRYSTAL. Black folks just want a nigga in the white house. I did flip to–and past–the channel the debate was on. I’ve heard enough of what they are and aren’t going to do. Shit, let me vote. Honestly, I knew who I was voting for as soon as I saw he was black. Ignorant? Maybe. But, I’m fine with my ignorance on this subject. Go Nigga Go!!!!!

I dont think its true that black ppl just want another black person in office think back to 96 when Collin Powell almost got on the ballot Obama is to me is a ray of light a new hope that everyone needs in this country, matter of fact the world needs this hope. Hillary lied and said yesterday that she lied and it was brushed over yet they kept on asking Barack about his affiliation with Rv. Right instead of talking about their policies and dealig with the real issues which is what the establishment wants us to do. What ppl do realize is that were fighting over tablescraps when there’s mutherfucker at the table with the whole bird

I watched some of the debate also. I agree with Q. Obama is getting tired of all the stupid stuff. People keep telling him he need to act like Hilary with all the doggin but I think he wants to truly put some of the mess to rest and get to what the election is all about change.

First Obama is a Harvard grad and for head of its law review. Short and slow he is not; he probably smarter than most. He generally gets the better of the exchanges. He’s toned it down because she (like most feminazis) play the vicitm card and starts crying or something. This was best seen in the pre new hampishere debate and the aftermath in the polls. The last thing he can stand is being the big bad uppity negro outtalking and outsmarting an old white lady.
The debates show her as an entitled bully, who thinks just cause she was lying next to the President she can be president. The more she talks the more people see she really is a bitch and it isnt just cause she’s strong.
Its funny and I am willing to bet my dollar on this, but I highly doubt most of the people who raised questions over his experience raised them for Hillary. She was a senator for slightly longer than him, yet she introduced no relevant legistlation. Even her foriegn policyexperience is being shown to be fraudelent. see bosina incident.
Black people need to get over this word is bond nonsense. Seriously, the man is applying for a job and I doubt any of us have ever sat in an interview and told our true feelings. I didnt sit in my non profit interview exposing my true Black Nationalism and plans to help the poor. I used coded language. All of us have. Its makes us no less, it does make us smart. So unless you’ve hung out with Obama and shot some hoops you dont know the man or his politics. you just know what he wants you to see.
Politicians by nature are vague. you want consice you talk to an academic. Politicans who arent vague are failures (see henry clay, george mcgovern, dennich kunnich et all).
Lastly, I think its admirable we are finally supporting our own. I think after years of blinding sucking on white teets, we need to stand tall with a Brother. I find it laughable to try, on any mudane level, that some white person (man or woman) has a better grasp of our needs than one of our own.
Thanks
going back to helping poor negrraz..

There a a lot of people who are not supporting. My sister is voting for Hillary and I don’t think she really knows why. She says “What has Obama done? That shows me how some people are stuck, and personally I don’t understand. She has never even tried to learn what he has contributed to our country. She just voting for Hillary and she don’t even know much about her except she was married to Bill. What a waste.

Umm no..
_ Harvard grad don’t mean sheet…what policies does he support that support us? he is against Affirmative Action, reparations( if you care about that). He is for illegal immigration. He loses these debates according to the polls because he never gives details on anything. He talks change ,belief in America etc but so specifics..Of course why give specifics when you don’t have to right..brilliant imo…
That fake email that went around on policy was trash. Ole Hilly has passed more relevant legislation then Obama and she should have since she was in office longer then he. The link for Thomas.gov that was in that bogus email fully details what legislation she passed vs him and it was not even close. Funny when people read or check sources these emails always come out twisted.
Well for her as being a bully this is politics. Why do we treat Obama like he is some weak azz puss? Let him be a man and a politician. If he can’t handle it then he should go home. Since he can handle it we should shut the hell up and let politics run its course. Hilly is really trailing and she had to get tough. But when she raises legitimate questions we ignore it.
We know his politics based upon what he said or has done. Who gives him money and whom he supports. But we don’t care because we want a smooth talking brother aka the first black man in the white house. We can get him in then be disappointed later when his policies do not help us….they will hurt us…just like Clinton and Bush..
I agree thank goodness we are supporting one of our own but the catch is his policies do not support us and we will find out the hard way.
