It is said that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn’t exist. Propaganda and manipulation maintain an ironic, peculiar place in our society because everyone recognizes them until they become the victims. George W. Bush is NOT stupid. Dyslexic and irreparably goofy, maybe, but do not believe for a second that he has not understood his actions and their consequences every step of the way. Dubya is a Neo-Conservative, a term that I am sure everyone has in their vernacular by now. The bullshit begins here.

The big difference between the classic conservative and a neo-con is that the latter is in no way conservative. The Republican Party predating Ronald Reagan believed in small government with as little intervention into the lives of the private sector as possible. They stood by laissez-faire economic principles and preached fiscal responsibility. They valued the U.S. Constitution, believing that to stray too far from the path would lead to tyranny. Their perspective was that the people and their representative states were the ultimate authority, not the federal government. In turn, the sovereignty of the United States was never to be placed in jeopardy. There is a damn good reason why so many traditional conservatives hate the direction of the Republican Party.

Bush’s administration is the exact opposite of these principles. Since he stole the first election running as a small everyman Texas governor (One of the richest oil Tycoons who was born, raised and educated in Connecticut pulling that shit off is simply incredible), he has expanded government. He has led us into an unjustifiable, pre-emptive war. There were no WMDs, Hussein and Bin Laden were not in cahoots, and as far as liberating a people…the chaos of bombs and bullets its answer enough. Then there is the whole torture issue to consider.

We have created a haven for terrorism, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and Afghanis have been slaughtered, there is no exit strategy (actually he is attempted to sneak through policies which would keep us in Iraq indefinitely), and the troops whom everyone “supports” have by passed the total death toll of civilians killed in 9/11. Remember Katrina? Yeah, they still haven’t gotten that one all sorted out. No, really, look it up. Bush has taken one of the greatest economic surpluses in history and turned it into one of the greatest deficits. He has eroded the guarantees of the Constitution and continuously abused his power. As an ambassador he had destroyed virtually all credibility the US has with the rest of the world.
