with the evolution of television and all forms of media, we now see a society that if it’s on TV or on the internet, then it’s the truth.. no matter what.. google searches dictate if you can be in business.. Q ratings (which goes back to media coverage) dictate what entertainers and athletes should be paid, and how much.. and if you don’t have a Q rating, it’s a wrap for you.. but the system doesn’t even include all forms of media..
before getting to that, it goes back to corporations or individuals with agendas having the ONLY voice on television.. if that’s the Bible or the truth, and the american public only has that as an true information source, then we’re going to have some issues.. rap music is all gangsta and bling.. ALL rap music.. that’s just what the media shows and portrays.. but on Troubl you guys provide other options.. i look at the Roots, and as one of my favorite artists (across any genre), they don’t get that play, cuz they ain’t doing the whole payola.. media shows 10 second sound bites which now makes the entire Black church fall under the leadership of Rev. Wright, when only .000000000001 (add as many 0’s as needed before that 1) of the Black population go to his church..
NFL athletes are all either T.O. or Randy Moss.. white NFL athletes are all Peyton and Eli Manning.. we know it’s not the truth, but that’s what we see.. shoot, go to Nebraska and listen to the stories of women getting abused by the lineman, but the only story we hear is about Lawrence Phillips..
education for underserved communities are all “hood”, while the fully served are all prepared to go to Princeton..
every Black kid wears his pants down low..
i can go on and on, but the fact is, most people only know what they see and hear, and people venture less and less outside of their homes.. shoot, fear will stop them from going to places.. fear gets us into wars that last forever.. fear needed a voice and an outlet and the media provided it..
i find it funny that whenever i hear an Arabian song, i automatically think of terrorism.. but when i actually listen to the songs, they are beautiful.. but my instinct makes me think of Osama..

I totally agree.
They tell you what they want you to hear. There is a purpose for all of this. It seems like the most important things get sweep under the rug.
I feel that the media in this country is what keeps us separate from one another. Even us as minorities what we see and hear make us fear each other. Who gets blamed for all this? not the media. How do we change this, because people seem to be so complacent.

I know you guys are sick of me telling you this but it’s obvious!!!!
“For The Lack Of Knowledge The People Perish” Proverbs 29:18
I’m just going to tell you like it is, and you can either say “Malia, fuck you!” Or…………. you will say “Malia, thank you for giving a fuck!!!”
The little boy said, “IT’S FUN TO DO BAD THINGS” WTF?!?!?!
One of the most interesting aspects of this is the perception children themselves have about their life. I suppose by now many of you have heard the story of the third graders that plotted to kill their teacher. I don’t know about you…but I have a problem with that! We wonder why so many bad things are happening but we can trace it back to when we took God out of our schools……
Okay, I’m ready!!!!!!

I do agree with you to some point. But the schools are not where I learned about the Lord Jesus. We didn’t even have black history in school. In most of the schools the Devil was real busy.
My Grandmother was the one who bought me to the Lord, as well as my mother. Grandma taught us how to pray and that our bodies were temple she was the one who had us in church from morning to night on Sunday and several time a week. I didn’t learn anything that involved God in school but the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Family is the key. We got to get straight about our relationship with the lord before our children can get it.

I have not heard about the 3rd graders. Do you have a link?
Also, and this is my opinion, some people think I am crazy but all people are not “people.” Some of these beings are not even human. Call them demons, aliens, shape shifters, call them whatever you want. Children that think of doing this evil shit and grown people that do the sick shit they do can not be just “ignorant” Nooooooo there is alot more going on. It is in the dna. The genetic makeup is not human, can’t be.
Ok yall can think I am crazy now…..

You are absolutely right. Knowledge of ANYTHING begins at home!
I used school as my platform because our children learn many doctrines, habits, behaviors at school by teachers and their peers. I’m not saying to shove religion down anyone’s throat ((I hate religion)) but use it as a guideline for right and wrong morals and ethics. It’s right to say “please and thank you”…it’s wrong to try to kill your teacher….When we took prayer out of our schools, school shootings ascended at an accelerated rate. Now, we actually have emergency drills for it. We can’t pray but we can kill…..hmmmmmmmmmm
Is it just me???? Or is this wack?????

Brainwashing 101 is needed on this child. Mr is fearless because he knows he can get away with it. Listen to the so called Grandmother.
“I want to whip his behind. If I thought I wouldn’t take me to jail, I would whoop his behind.”
Somewhere along the line someone has taught this stupid kid that it’s ok to do what you want to do. The family, if they have a brain amoung them, should have a get together and take turns breaking this little heffa down using belts, putting Mr on his knees, humiliation of the highest order and ………… …then and only then shall we talk.
Mr would break down like a baby and forever the WANNA BE HOODRAT would disapear. That is when the family must talk to this child sense of right and wrong and stop him from these ideas forever. When he really is sorry for this, they need to pour the love they have for him onto his broke state of reality. If they do not do this at that time, he will revert back into doing what he wants which will soon get his fat ass thrown into PRISION!

I dont think that is going to work Kevin. Just watch this little boy and his body language. He wants to be a thug. The women in the video has LOST CONTROL. ( I suspect she never had any) I dont think a tapping will scare him into submission. (it might shrugs) For a 7 year old boy to even “THINK” he can get away witht his mess in the midst of parental supervision speaks volumes…..

Hell yea an ass whipping is in order: The Child, The Grandmother and the Mother, The adults need an ass whipping for buying those violent Video games and the child for being a big enough fool to try what he see on video and TV. This child is in the 4th or 5th grade (as big as his ass is maybe 6th grade hahahha) just had to get that fat joke in there somewhere, Damn did you notice that kid’s size? shyt

Well, that is where we are different. You see a man and a boy have a special way of communicating. The key is to convince him, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he will obey and abide by your rules. That requires a very special, somewhat abusive, ass whipping. I think every brother in the room can raise his hand and shout at that one.
Richard Pryor put it best.
You think you a man now, mf?
And his chest caved in, and wrapped around his father’s fist. And that chest was not going to let that fist go.

And the thing is he’s 7 he’s only in the 2nd grade. GO GET THE SWITCH LIL NIGGA!!!!

Q,
I’m with you 100% but the media is only one part of it. Before you have the media you have the people who produce the media. The media is just a reflection of ignorant reporters, editor and producers that “make” the news.
To me, the number one culprit that breeds ignorance is wealth. Breeding ignorance is about power. It’s about creating a population of people that work to make the wealthy more wealthy and in turn more powerful. My mans R.Pepper spoke on it this week in his piece call Poor Production…The media is one of the tools used to accomplish this.
It’s crazy when you realize that at the highest levels the media boils down to a few wealthy individuals. These people profit from the fact we don’t know stuff. And in our search to find out more, they package information and sell it to us as the news. And at the same time, they include an advertisements from a companies that their friends owns.
Their wealth of knowledge or rather access to knowledge comes from the people they employ, the cameras, satelites and staions they own and from the fact that you want to know.
News is an arbitrary conception. Of course things like war are critical but what we know as new simply comes down to what the media chooses to cover. There are wars going on everyday that we never heard about.
We together need to make the news because at that point we define what people need to pay attention. We can point to positive example instead of crime stories. We can educate instead of create fear. Maybe we won’t be able to sell ads, but we’ll find a way to make money…
WEALTH IS THE CULPRIT!

Make sure you keep the Biblical verses. We need them. The concept of the Bible is TROUBL. It’s collection of stories that educates people and it a guide for life. I don’t read it literally but I don’t read the newspaper literally either. Every story has someone’s perception applied to it.
Plus, the Bible is what started the mass media. The protestants were revolutionaries. They broke away from corruption in the catholic church to create their own interpretation. That’s TROUBL… The birth of the media is rooted in their decision to use early printing presses to print copies of the Bible so that they could more easily spread their ideas. Before then, the bible was only available in churches and in the private libraries of wealthy people.
The protestants made the Bible available to poor people. This fact alone changed the world. Why? Because they made it a requirement of worship to read the Bible, which ultimately created literacy…
The Bible is TROUBL
P.S.
You’re right. Hip-hop is one of the culprits also. But before it all their are people, “wealthy people,” who own record labels. There’s a lot of hip-hop that’s educational and inspiring, but the masses don’t hear it. The wealthy people make more money selling us cRap music.

People…simple and plain. Individuals and groups breed ignorance through their apathy as well as their passions. We gravitate towards our own extreme views, live in constant fear/anxiety, and say to hell with anyone who doesn’t agree with us at that particular time. We see ourselves as the logical conclusion of evolution, rather than a stepping stone to something greater. We blame everything and everyone else for influencing the actions of those that we demonize through propaganda. Government, institutions, media, entertainment- all begin with people. When things go wrong, it’s time to pass on the responsibility to somewhere else. The movie, music, video game, cute chick on the corner, etc did not make you screw up. YOU screwed up. There are A LOT of external factors that we cannot control, that’s true, but before shifting the blame, we should look at ourselves. Stop. Think. Then act.

Media, Video games, Music you name it. We don’t have the mentors and the programs that guide our children anymore. Parents can take a lot of the blame as well. I can’t imagine a young boy saying some of the things I heard on this video, but I can tell he has no idea what he was getting himself into.

Apathy is an effect of ignorance, not the other way around. And what passions are you describing?
[Reply]
Terry
TM-
I disagree. I may fully comprehend an issue, that does not mean that I have to care about it. Lacking the will to act does not make me ignorant. I may very well choose not to care or act because I understand the depth, or lack of it, or for any number of reasons. However, if I am apathetic at the start, that would indeed make me ignorant of it.
On another note, the opposite of love is not hate… its indifference. If I hate you, I still care, even if the emotions come out negatively. If I stop caring, you have absolutely no value in my life.
As far as passions: people steal, rape, murder, etc because of their hardcore, strict beliefs. Consider the so called seven deadly sins and that’s actually a pretty decent make up: Pride, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, and Sloth. This is not my attempt to preach. Remember, more deaths have taken place in the name of Christ than any other figure throughout the course of recorded history. Damn, we are in the middle of a holy war now. G.W.B. to all sheep: we are sending your children to kill other children elsewhere. They may come back in a box. If not, maybe they will go to college.
