   I hate when people act like the music doesn’t move society. It does. It always has. Is gangsta rap to blame? No. But it sure does contribute. Don’t get me confused, I’m not on some Alicia Keys hype, saying gangsta rap was created by “the man” to make us kill each other. We created gangsta rap, “the man” sold it.

   What “the man” created was the environment that breeds gangs and out of that culture came the music. Racism, misogyny and police brutality existed a long time before gangsta rap. Still, when artist celebrate violence and misogyny it creates a culture that believes its okay to kill each other and to s women.

   Gansta rap makes nigger or rather nigga easier for me and Kramer to say. But he doesn’t get a pass? Why cause he’s white?

   I like Allcia Keys music. She makes good music that I relate to, but so does a lot of other artist. Gangsta rap is very much what a lot of us relate to everyday. To me Cube it telling a story of reality just like Allica might tell a story of her reality. These things are part of a lot of peoples lives. We can all relate to something the say that applies to us.

    I’m specifically talking about gangs in Los Angeles. The bloods and the crips grew from the young black men who banded together to protect themselves from groups of white youth.
