WWJED?
As the Democratic contest continues to chug along, I find myself more confused about what the outcome will be. Will Hillary ride her wins in Texas and Ohio to the nomination? Did Obama’s speech on race clarify his position and solidify his candidacy? Who knows?
Instead of listening to some offbeat cable news pundit or calling Miss Cleo, I asked myself one question: what would John Edward do?
I mean really, who does Edwards want to see win the nomination? He knows both Obama and Clinton very well. He’s worked with both n the hill, he’s interacted with both of their spouses and he’s debated both on their political stances.
His relationship with the two is rather intriguing. Before Edwards dropped out of the race, you could see him playing both sides of the aisle during the debates. It was pretty obvious that he was positioning himself so that either way, his name would be one that both camps had to consider. But whose cabinet would he rather serve under, and why?
Try to imagine an Obama and Edwards ticket. It would definitely go down as the prettiest presidential tandem America has ever seen. They’d be the Crockett and Tubbs of American politics. I can already see their cover for GQ magazine.
A Clinton and Edward ticket may not be as pretty, (blame that on Hillary), but it may actually be more effective. Edward’s focus on the poor and working class, combined with the Clinton’s history for helping the economy, may actually help to level America’s class discrepancies.
Considering both outcomes raises another question: who is the real John Edwards? Is Edwards really the 400$-haircut-gettieng rock star politician that the media has painted him to be. Or is he the policy wonk that wants to legislate class equality for all Americans.
Either way, I’m not mad at Edwards. He has proven to be a very formidable force in American politics. He already has one vice-presidential nod under his belt and a second is very likely. The only thing about this is if he’s chosen to be either candidates running mate will Americans forever know him as Mr. number two, a runner-up, an assistant pimp???
Let’s take the Edwards question one step further… If he does become one of their running mates, how will the symbolism of having a black man or a woman as the boss of a white man, affect America?

Yo what’s good TROUBL?
mann, i don’t know too much about Edwards but i see this as a question that i would think more as a “what would EYE do if i was that man?” older, white, senator, this and that (instead of being the handsome, smart, athletic, 20 year old young Black man that i am) but with my thoughts.
and really, i; feel like i’d go with Obama..
i’m a person that can relate to almost anyone in some way or another.
but what’d help me make that decision that goes with that, me asking myself, “who would i enjoy more as a friend and boss?”
don’t mix business and pleasure and blah blah blah, but i would feel more comfortable with someone who reflects me, ya know?
they say, “you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with” (which EYE feel is true in MOST cases). and i feel like my crowd is able to match or come close to matching my thoughts.. that let’s me know that my vote would be for who can run things more with the way i agree to them running it..
whatever..
my answer if i was John E. would be Barack..
we could talk politics, sports, hoes, whatever..
maybe even get him to light a blunt with me or something..
Hilary wouldn’t be koo..
get drunk at a White House function and give Hilary a couple “Fuck You Bitch”’s..
hahahhahahaa.. me and Barack get bent and laugh at them broads!
hahahahahahaa..
( i love women by the way.. just using my language loosely cause i can)

LOL @ calling Miss Cleo—-good one TROUBLMAN!!!!
There does seem to be a method to Edwards’ strategy of constantly siding with Obama. People are looking for change and that’s clear. Senator Clinton doesn’t represent change and he and Senator Obama do, so they start at a good place. Secondly, the kind of change that he’s taIking about is to strengthen and grow the middle class. there won’t be any meaningful change in this country unless we have a President that’s willing to fight the entrenched special interests.
