“Taxaayyy!”

Written by: Terry

taxi.jpgThere’s a nigger standing in the street. It’s 10:30 and there is an orange glow obscuring his features. His arm is raised and he begins to yell at the driver. The driver looks terrified because the nigger calling out to him is standing near a street corner. The light is yellow. If he doesn’t stop in time, he doesn’t know how bad it could get. He thinks to the hard cold thing in his glove box and presses down on the gas pedal. The light turns red but he’s going to fast to stop now. “Fuck, that nigger. I’m not going to deal with any bullshit tonight man. I got a family and shit.”

The car storms along narrowly avoiding another crossing cab.

“Damn man, that’s the 10th cab I have seen in the last 5 minutes. You know its serious racism when fear fucks up yo money.”

  1. Racism is alive and well and it lives in these damn cabs.

I love how you’ve captured an experience that I have everyday. I’m a “nigger,” or at least that’s what the cab drivers think.

I have a family too and I’m standing in the rain trying to get home to them. LOL

    “There’s a cab. Flag it down…”

    Cab stops: “where you going.”

    “I’m going to…”

“Not in my cab…” Cab zoom off…

  2. this is sooo real. I fuckin hate when it’s raining and i’m in meatpacking district (expensive club area ) and
Black Fucking cab drivers, don’t pick me up. Matter of fact, they splash water on me and pick people way up the street. Fuckers

The worst thing is that they are black-mostly african.

Now lets ask ourselves- why do africans hate black niggas.

I’ll give u my knowledge. many of them(africans) come here to find “us” black people on some coonery in the hood. Not doing, shit, not going to school, acting a fool in the hood, being loud and rude to the arab on the corner store, chinese food store lady.

Africans feel that black people here have water, electricity, heat in most cases and food. The africans who come here barely have electrcity, let alone running water. They(africans) live in the real hoods, so they come here and have no respect for us and call us lazy.

is it right? Fuck no. No one should judge.

but can i blame them, would i really want to pick up black niggas, i don’t know. I do know that it sux that we talk about the fuckin”man”, but a lot of the bad shit that happens to us is from each other…>So fucking weak, so weak.

matter of fact i feel that “the man” shit is us still thinking in slave terms. We make our own destiny.

Case in point- u know the system is trying to get u, why the fuck are u selling weed in a school parking lot. That is saying “silly negroe here , take me to jail, i don’t want to pass go and collect 200″. See you in 5 years when i’ll come out to the streets and i’ll have respect but i’ll have a record so basically no one will hire me and i’ll have to go back to that crime shit..yea real cool dude, ur tough…damn i hate ramblin…

Shit, I live in Los Angeles. So my everyday cab experiences are very slim. But I can agree with you Troublman when you say that racism is still alive, and the sad thing about it is, People can point their finger at situation that may appear to be racist against them, but not relevant when it’s themselves who are racist or committing racist acts.

Boosy- Why do bougie black people want to move to where white people are moving in to? I think it’s because they feel like they can relate to the white people more, and more importantly they want to feel like they are superior to the other black people around them. It’s okay to want the finer things in life, but there are boundaries that no one should ever cross. What I mean by that is no one should ever feel superior to anyone regardless of their race. Now If you just feel that you are over all just a better person then so be it! But even in that case, keep it to yourself…

  5. I agree TROUBLSOME, no doubt they feel that they(bougie Blacks) have transcended their blackness.

Civil rights - bougie blacks ran the organization, working blacks rode the bus and did the sit-ins. That’s why they don’t understand the struggle at times.

“even in a benz, you’s still a nigga in a coupe”- Kanye.

but i also think that as my buddy said know that “where white people are, “johnny-law” will be there to make sure that crime is not there.”

As the kid who told me said” Where we(black people) are, there’s usually high crime rates”. Then he says something that was so funny i have to let ya’ll in on it.

he goes ” Actually dude, let’s take a walk outside.” We get outside and he points to the floor and says” see dude, where are the trash, 40’s and mcdonalds wrappers” i go ” nowhere ” Then he goes”exactly”.

Then i go, actually theres dog doo-doo on your floor, just like in the hood, except the dogs here eat gourmet so the shit looks better. so shut ur mouth,ur neighborhood’s not better and you’s a nigga, sorry dude. lol

  6. I think people live where white people live because the want to live where ever they want. What is a white place. We have fought so hard for our rights why can’t we live where we want.
Boosy- That’s just like the choice to be with a white women. Choice. I love my black people and we have faults, but come on you guys a making me crazy! Everything white is not alright and those cab drivers the African drivers come here just like other countries come here with those negative feelings even before they get to know you. Do they think that all white people are ok to pick up? And that crime is all we do. If they do they might get a serial killer in their cab oneday it has happened. I’m sorry there is a lot of good in us and you are all examples of that. So don’t you think there are more of us out there. It’s our job to bring them aboard.

  7. Defintiely not, but for some reason society and black people themselves think so. So i address it.

It’s like going to school and doing well. in the hood that’s “some white shit” at the bare element. Not cool. Why can’t we celebrate sucess that is educational, does it always have to be athlete/entertainers..because “that’s not cool, that’s coonery” lol sorry i had to throw in one of my catch phrases……

  8. We are so much more as a people/ Even though some of us don’t think so or don’t care to find out. That’s what stereotypes are all about not finding out. And even our own people. My world is too big for that mess.

  9. BIG Tone

I agree with “MOM”. Lets think about the color that real matters. GREEN! Not all white people live in big houses in good neighborhood’s and not all black people live in bad ones. Personal status is based on salary.

I do agree with the cab thing. I have never experienced it first hand(thats cause I never needed a cab) but I do know people that have.

  10. Here’s some game for people who live in New york. If a cab driver pulls over to pick you up they leagally have to take you wherever you want to go enforcable by law. Meaning if you get in a cab in manhatten and you tell them you you need to go to brooklyn and they dont want to take you refuse to get out of the cab and tell them to find a police officer (we actually had to do this one night) and the officer will tell them to take you where you want to go. Also threaten to call 311 and file a complaint once they see you know the law it’ll be a smooth ride.

  11. Good Idea. I got put out of a cab in Las Vegas once because he wanted to take us the long way to Old Vegas and I insisted he take the back roads because of the high fare. I will use that information next time.
