They Don’t Matter
“Could we possibly have a nominee who hasn’t won any of the significant states — outside of Illinois?” Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton’s Chief Strategist said. “That raises some serious questions about Sen. Obama.”
Significant states? What kind of bullshit is that? Some quick advice for the Clinton camp, don’t trash your constituency.
Aren’t these states significant enough to propel Obama into the nomination? Aren’t these the same places Democrats have been trying to gain ground on Republicans for some time now?
It’s this cocky, we-don’t-need-you attitude that has kept scores of the most marginal Americans, people who the Dems supposedly love, opposed to the party. The only question that comes to mind when I analyze Obama’s wins is how does he do it? What’s the secret? How does a black man, with a name that’s fresh out of an Al Jazeera news report win states like Iowa, Idaho, Nebraska, Utah, Maine, Delaware, Connecticut, Kansas, Virginia, etc? Beats me?!?!

Well thats the beauty of the Obama campaign…Its done from the bottom up…people are charmed by this man that advocates that “the power are in the people”… they want to see that thought manifest…people want their opinions to count… although his name does sound very exotic… the audience hes targeting crosses all race, culture and sometimes socioeconomic lines….

Hey TROUBL fam!!!!! I miss yall!!!! HOW DOES HE DO IT????? That’s the question of the hour TROUBLMan….Obama makes the difference, I’ve heard him speak. The breadth of Obama’s victory in Washington matched its depth!!!!! and Obama’s resounding victory reflected the strong organization his campaign has built, much of it with young, college-age supporters and those at higher educational and income levels. Let’s not forget people taking the time out of their celeb life like Black-Eyed Peas’ Will-I-AM setting Obama’s Speech to Music (don’t know if yall have already covered that cuz I’ve been stuck in an office for 12 hours a day).
The lopsidedness of Obama’s Washington victory might prove embarrassing for the big-name Democrats here who endorsed Clinton and I’m not taking anything from the woman. I believe she is very capable but she brings in too much of the old experience as well. I dig people who have their OWN plan. Let’s get some new and improved ish up in the WHite House…lol!!!!!!

I’m supporting Barack because he will rebuild our broken international bridges. He really brings people together. I know so many people, Republicans, Democrats, and independents alike who all support him…I can’t stop talking to people about him!

Hey stranger, good to see you alive and well. Thanks for the email. The “Obama effect” is gaining momentum with the quickness. I see brothers and sisters registering to vote with urgency now because they missed their opportunity in the primary thinking they could do it the same day or the day before. He has helped “double” voter turnout and hopefully this will double his chances of really taking this thing all the way.

It seems like a simple question and here is my response.
1 - George Bush got elected, twice, because people are stupid.
2- It’s time to get smart

We’ve missed you. Glad you could drop some knowledge on us this fine Valentines day. I think Washington realizes who’s the best candidate. Her showing during the primaries shows she’s not a true national candidate. Plus, her and McCain basically share the same political leaning. I have to say, I’m truly surprised at the middle America’s support of Obama. Regardless of what people think, this says something about the issue of race America. Most people are stuck on the old arguments. The race issue exists, but its very different than what it used to be.

Bush also got elected without winning the popular vote. Hillary could do the same. If she wins on some super delegate shit, could that be the end of the the Democratic party?

I think the answer may be simpler than we expect. There are more smart people than ignorant people. People feel that Obama is more representative of their issues and as such they aren’t letting skin color get in the way of voting for him.
Here is another point that gets overlooked people who won’t vote for Obama because of his skin color are not Democrats they’re almost always republican. So, we won’t really know how far we’ve come as a nation until the real election starts and he is up against and republican. Let’s see how many of those Montana’s and Idaho’s he wins then. I believe Obama will still mop the floor with him. With McCain winning his home state and some Midwest states like the aforementioned, a couple east coast states and that’s all.
Incidentally, that is exactly why the right wing of the republican party has their panties in a bunch. They know McCain will loose the evangelical vote and as a result he could also loose all the southern states to Obama, because he’s black not in spite of it. McCain will never get a liberal vote and moderates and independents have flocked to Obama (McCain’s base). The Limbaugh’s and Coulter’s of the right wing see the writing on the wall and it reads, PRESIDENT OBAMA.

Thank you young people! This is what it’s all about finally getting involved. I know that some of you have been voting since you were 18 but the past show that not many young adults vote. Obama is making more history than we can imagine and you are all a part of his making it. Not only does he have the opportunity to bring a nation together that has been broken for a very long time. He has the opportunity to show what it takes to be a real leader. One that includes not excludes. Most people are really tired of whats going on in our country and how we are looked upon in other countries. This election is a universal thing. Maybe now we can make other see what our country should be about and be an example instead of prompting hate and discontent. Young people you are history and you help write the book.

In my opinion, people are putting forth too much effort to bash and slander the other party opposed to putting forth an effort to make a difference in this corrupt world that we live in. It’s time to put away childish ways and press towards making Great Positive Changes!

Personally, I think it’s ironic how things have ended up this far… Either you have to choose a black man or a woman. Both have been unheard of for decades upon decades. hehehe *singing* CHANGE GONE COME!

BROKEN SILENCE
You’re most definitely correct. I’m still seeing the Clintons in the news trying to bash Obama. Their only excuse, “its politics.” Exactly, its the politics that Americans are fed up with.
I commend Obama for trying something different. Looks to be paying off extremly well so far.

On a serious note, it should not be the fact that a woman /black man is running. To me it’s more about if they are the right person for the Job……

Boosy your right. The best person for the job should be our next President. But I’m glad that finally the best man can possibly be a Women/Black male. Apparently for as long as we have had presidents in this country, somebody thought the right choice should always be, may I say ” White middle age/older males”. Maybe this election will open the doors. One day we will have a Rep/Dem women running against each other or two blacks, hispanics , Asians, Native Americans male/female. History can be made, and maybe with a little faith change will be made. For me I don’t think we can do any worse. I think I know who that person is.

Grassroots organizing and passion. Obama started from the ground up. He is speaking directly to us, instead of keeping us as outsiders. Bottom line: When the man speaks, I believe him.
