A lecture by Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes, inspired J. B. Rhine to develop the field of parapscholgy and coin the term extrasensory perception. Synonymous with gut instinct, intuition and the sixth sense , ESP has become a collective term for various abilities including telepathy , clairvoyance, pre/retrocognition, mediumship and psychometry . And while ESP is not generally accepted by the scientific community, at least the rap community loves a good Bruce Willis flick .
