RSSTo Be Examined…
There seems to be a huge, eternal gap between thought and reality. When I’m broke, I think about robbing banks. When I haven’t had any in awhile, I think about sex. When a person kills someone, I think about unity. But, my thoughts don’t necessarily translate into reality. Descartes, a modern French philosopher, is known for the statement: “I think, therefore I am.” Really? Rapper, Lupe Fiasco says, “If you are what you say you are… then have no fear” Really?
I think I am a president. I think I am a millionaire. I think I am 6’4, muscular and in the NFL. It doesn’t matter which one. They all come with the same amenities—money, sex, drugs, and women. There is certain insanity in thinking you are something when, in fact, you are not. Squares think they’re gangsters. Rappers think they’re artists. Hoes think they’re women. Scrubs think they’re pimps. And men think they rule the world (think about that). Is thinking really enough to be? I feel as if I’m skewing Mr. Descartes’ thought. In fact, I’m pretty sure I am, though not to absolute ignorance. Be that as it may, it’s still nice to ponder.
The bridge, which has to be long and forever like a mother’s love for her son or a woman’s love for her man (but not a man’s love for his woman which tends to be fleeting), seems to be action. Thought and reality communicate through doing. “To do or not to do” that is the question Sir William. However, colorful words and slick jargon don’t make feet move anywhere—unless you’re a pimp. A pimp could make Mary, the mother of Jesus, walk the strip. But, then again, she already had a pimp. God. He did talk her into having his baby with some other guy. Now, that’s pimping.
You must do in order to be, then, it seems to follow. ‘I do, therefore I am’ is a quick rightful edit to the Frenchman. Think of the implications: Become real by doing. So, if you don’t do, you’re not real. If you’re not real, then you’re fake. If you’re fake, you don’t exist. Now that I think about it, there are a lot of non-existent people walking around. Basically, ‘Be real, think and do.’ Easier said than done.

Good thing you didn’t say, As a man SPEAKS so is he, cuz a lot of people speak a whole lot of mess and they can’t back even half of it up! Sometimes when I hear the BS that flies out people’s mouths I just wanna slap em! I wanna say nigga quit lyin’!!! But I digress…..
Same with actions. When I was at the lowest point in my life all the people who said they cared about me showed me their true colors. People tell you they love you and they can hurt you more than your worst enemy. Remembering all of this really shook me up. I got so sad but right away I realized where God has brought me from and then I got so happy. And the thing that touched me the most was that in all of that despair and hopelessness, I thought that I was alone, but it was clear to me that GOD WAS THERE EVEN THEN!!! I wish that you could feel what I’m feeling right now. I didn’t know it at the time but now, looking back, I see that He was there all the time.
I know that some of you are tired of hearing this stuff from me, but there are others who need it like they’ve never needed it before. So please, bear with me (smile). Listen to me. Every person that I thought would help me turned their back on me. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not mad or bitter. I’m grateful. I have learned since then that sometimes God will close every door around you so that you will have to look at Him and Him alone to supply all of your needs. I wish that I could bring every one of you into this apartment and show you the miracles that God can and is willing to do for anyone who believes.
Anyway, all of that taught me the type of person I want to be. If I tell you I love you I want my actions to correspond. (That’s why I’m going green for yall…lol) If I tell you I’m doing something or I did something or I feel a certain way……it’s real talk! I won’t blow smoke up your ass….so don’t blow smoke up mine! Think before you speak and mean what you say! And make your actions mean something or else you’re just a broke down busted fraud!
BE A MAN/WOMAN OF YOUR WORD!!!

I agree. We shouldn’t play. I’ve never doubted what moves my life and has bought me this far. Somethings are better left alone, and when you offend others you push then away.
Now! Talking about some of our thoughts. That is just what they are thoughts. They become something only when you act on them. Now I to agree about some of your thoughts but I also think all those people you talked about can be what they think they could be. And as for my God he always goes for what we might think is the underdog.

Who says God doesn’t have a sense of humor? He might not like the joke, but there’s plenty of jokes I heard and didn’t like. We are made in His image. I laugh. So, I assume I got my laughter from Him. Plus, God has to have a sense of humor. He deals with us humans everyday.
